Earlier we looked at one of the hottest new decorating trends, transforming pre-loved home fittings and furniture into something super stylish, in this case, a window frame into a shelf. Well, who said it was just for humans? Is your dog absolutely spoilt the rotten bit of a prince or princess pooch? Well, that's! Okay, because we are gonna turn this into something fit for dog royalty. Isn't that right who knew okay? So let me show you my plan: if we flip it upside down, you'll see what I mean tada, it's a four-poster doggy bed. Now, let's take out the drawer and we can get to work because it doesn't look much now, but once we're done, trust me. This is going to be fantastic, just taking out this lump of timber and all of these decorative bits that I don't need well there we go now we're all clear to flip the drawing upside down. So it's now the right way up.
This is going to become the perfect place to stash all of those doggy treats and toys for the bed base. What I'm using here is a piece of MDF, I'm just taking off the corners with my jigsaw, so it fits nice and snug. A bead of glue will just hold it firmly and for the side, I'm cutting down a length of timber into four separate pieces. They simply get glued in place and to get this little bed ready for painting, I'm giving the whole thing quick lights. And then it's only with a coat of this stain blocker. This is perfect for old-fashioned furniture. It helps to stop the old varnish stains from soaking through your paint, color. Well, now our base coat is dry. We can think about how we're gonna decorate it I'm going for a sporty stripe. It kind of look because I think princess Lulu is really going to like it. So I'm just using my masking tape and applying it in straight lines all the way across.
There's a simple tip: if you want to make sure that your stripes are exactly the same width to take out the stripes in between that way, they'll all be even now for the dots. Well, it's super easy just head down to your local newsagent and grabs some of these stick-on dots, just pop them, where you like. This, of course, is a fancy for poster bed so to raise it just a little higher off the floor. I picked up some kind feet from the hardware store and painted them up to match. Spray paint is a great option if you want to get your furniture looking fab fast. I've gone for a quick dry flat black. It goes on nice and evenly no brush strokes. Time for the big reveal the stripes adds a regal touch and the spots they add the fun a posh bear does need a posh bedhead. So I've got a simple picture frame here, just pull it apart and base coat the wood, any color. You, as I've already done mine white and drawn a template of Lulu's favorite toy I've been inspired by this one on goes the red, acrylic paint and I'm using my finger to dab some dots on and for some bling. I'm just gonna stick on these rhinestones. Using my hot glue gun, then just pop it back into its frame, we are looking good so far. How about we stick on your headboard, we're on the feet and some shiny doorknobs finish off the posts. Perfectly now, let's left to do is to just pop the pillow on top and the toys in the drawer.
