I really need a bedside table in my bedroom. I'm really excited to get this project done. So, let's get started we're currently going through a house remodel. So I had access to construction tools for this project. I altered the design a little bit with measurements to fit my exact space. So with that, I wrote out a cut list and proceeded to cut all of my boards to a length you, I use five 24-inch two-by-fours for the top. I attach them together using pocket holes and wood glue for the side. I just attached the 20 and a half inch boards to the 12 and a half inch board lots of ways you could attach these.
I went for the easiest and quickest route, which was using this nail gun. I'm going for the rustic feel right yeah, the rustic feel so I'm going to cut the XD tail and assemble it. Now before I assemble the whole nightstand. I cut the pieces for the X longer than the measurement that way. I could inch my way up to a nice fit without cutting off too much after doing one, I kind of got the hang of it and it was just a repeat cut for the other side, when I was happy with the dry fit, I used some wood glue and Brad's nails just to hold it into place for the bottom part. I just attached the 15-inch boards to the 11 and a half inch boards to get this really rustic look and I also use the nail gun. I put two nails into the end of each board just for aesthetic purposes, so they all matched and look really cool. So I've assembled all of the different parts of the table. I have the bottom part which is going to be attached to the sides.
These little guys are going to go up here and then the top is going to be placed right here, and it should be all done at that point and ready for the finishing touches. This project came together pretty nicely. It was a lot easier than I had expected. I went ahead and built two to four two of them, because I needed one on each side of my bed I'll, the staining and finishing of these end tables. If you guys want to tune in for that, I'll probably have it up in the next week. What I'm thinking for these is a nice gray stain with maybe some corner hinges or something decorative.
